With their second child on the way, the couple felt the need to modernize the apartment. The prioritized environments in this project were the kitchen and the bathrooms, that needed to be renewed, and the bedrooms, that needed to be enlarged and updated with individual bathrooms.

Other details that are not less important were added to the remaking, so that it didn’t become only functional. The central wall of the living room, that makes partition with the kitchen, was enlarged so it could supply the great picture collection. The apparent bricks in addition to the copper luminaires that goes along the wall from one point to another give an artistic effect to this, which could be easily mistaken with a session from an art gallery.

The same copper that gives elegance to the wall, can be found in the luminaires and the kitchen’s cooker hood, composed majorly by materials with industrial characteristics. The floors of burnt cement and the iron door and glass that separates the long kitchen from the service area make an environment where textures and function are in accurate harmony.

The couple’s bedroom was displaced and started to occupy two rooms from the old design, so that way it would get a wide closet and a bathroom. The circulation, once in a big scale, was relocated so it would create a room for TV/Office, characterized by yellow lacquer, element that brings light to the environments that are lacking windows. At the opposite side, a sliding door takes to the children’s rooms, each one with its fun and colorful bathroom.

At the end of the work, the second child was born, giving grace to the positive result of the project.
