Series of photographs going over the construction phases of the buildings in Sapé, a housing in São Paulo.

The project for redevelopment of Sapé slum, located in the West Zone in the city of São Paulo, started in 2004 with a survey of the units that needed to be removed. In total, 1177 units were removed for the construction to meet all guidelines of the Strategic Master Plan and to fulfill the environmental legislation concerning the occupation near the banks of the stream. The program proposed by the team aimed to meet the housing demands of the residents while valuing the public space. The project aims at improving urban permeability and local life quality, with two new streets, bike paths, and various transpositions of the river; surrounded by areas of leisure and sports, trees, benches and paths.
